Koh Phangan PACs' official statement regarding the "fire" Read more

 At 10pm, Friday the 1st of August,
"fire" destroyed all medicines and most equipment at PAC. Two patients were in the clinic at the time – one cat died,
the other was saved due to the heroic actions of Pi Ton, our building foreman, who managed to halt the "fire" before the truck
arrived (and before the oxygen tank exploded). The cause of the "fire" has not yet been determined, but motorbikes and breaking
glass were heard before the "fire" started.
We at PAC are all shocked and saddened by this development – for 7 years we have given every ounce of ourselves to help
the animals of Koh PhaNgan and the island as a whole – work which has been funded by donations alone, with all earnings
reinvested into improving the lives of the animals of this island.
If this "fire" was started deliberately, then someone on Koh PhaNgan has a problem with PAC. All PAC’s work has been
called to an immediate halt, and all staff removed from the premises, until this problem is identified.

August 27th 2008, 3 weeks after the official Shiva Moon Party complaint at Koh Phangan’s local district office, delegates from Baan Nuea village were once more unable to receive any official statement from local police and district chief regarding the nightly disturbance caused by the Shiva Moon Party organizers.
During the days after Koh Phangan’s
infamous Full Moon Party at Had Rin beach the secret headquarters of Koh Phangan Island News received numerous reports from different reliable sources around the island that something might have happened at the Full Moon Party Aug 16th 2008.
August 5th 2008 official delegates
from the villages of Baan Tai, Baan Nuea and Baan Nok submitted their second official complaint about the Shiva Moon Party at the Administration
District Office on Koh Phangan.
PAC better known as Phangan
Animal Care, which has been operating since September 2001 as a non-profit nursing clinic providing veterinary care for the animals of
Koh Pha-Ngan was finally attacked with a Molotov cocktail by un-known criminals.
