Have spent some time at Over Bay in my days on the KPG.

Its a real little island gem.

The family who run this place, do so, in a most charming and caring manner.

The pictures capture some typical views from the restaurant. The rooms are elevated further and you get some blazin sunsets.

If you go, enjoy..............

Spent a week at this amazing little resort in April of 2003. The family that owns this place is amazing! They were so caring and were such gracious hosts. The food was out of this world too. The bungalows quaint and cool.
The beach itself is fantastic. Not many people. Great snorkeling. Bath water temperature. And you're far enough away from Haad Rin to escape the Full Moon Party crowd.
It's not that far from Haad Rin Beach either. Just have them call you a taxi (a pickup truck) and hold on tight to the sides as you take a bumpy road across the island.
It was a really nice change of scenery coming from Bangkok and then to the claustrophobia of the Full Moon Party to have some silence up on the hillside bungalows. Ridiculously cheap rates too. But then the US dollar was much much stronger then. I'm going to stay here again when I return to paradise.

Note: No one told me this before I went to the islands, so I'll tell you now: always have a roll of toilet paper in your backpack. For those of you traveling to SE Asia for the first time, realize that 'western plumbing' is still not in full swing in a lot of places. Most times, it's just porcelain bowl with footplates and you pour water in to flush everything into a septic tank. Some places would rather you not put toilet paper down their tubes; ask if you're not sure. You can usually tell if there's a bucket of water with used toilet paper in the corner...that's a good sign, don't put it down the drain. This might seem gross to a lot of prissy folks but, seriously, you'll get over it.
