WARNING – Deeply Addictive! That’s the new business slogan of Heike & Daniel Frutig who run the Dive Resort Center ‘HaadYaoDivers’ on the west coast of Koh Phangan Paradise Island.

After 6 weeks of intensive computer work the new website of http://haadyaodivers.com is online and running smooth. So a good time to make a bit of advertisement here on Island News Magazine and send them over some visitors. But please keep in mind – WARNING it’s deeply addictive ;-)

Opened 1997 Haad Yao Divers was the first Dive-Center on the West-Coast of Koh Phangan and one of the islands pioneers. Haad Yao Divers open new Dive Shop at Had Cha Phao!

Some couple of days ago I received a personal VIP invitation from Heike and Daniel Frutig who have been really good friends of mine over the last couple of years.

They both run HaadYaoDivers here on Koh Phangan Paradise Island and have somehow decided to dive a bit deeper into the diving industry section here on this island by opening another sub branch at Had Cha Phao area. So they both organized a great opening party at their new shop at Haad Cha Phao and invited all their good friends to come and join for a night of fun, food, drinks and happiness :-) The party started around 7 p.m. and Becki was a bit late like usual but not too late to miss the buffet with those delicious ‘frikadellen’, a sort of German style flat meat balls.

Then for that special occasion there also was this freshly certified dive master who had to go through this special dive master ritual of drinking one bottle of brown and disgusting looking liquid with a snorkel and mask attached to his face! Well … as far as I found out everybody who gets certified with HaadYaoDivers is somehow forced to participate in that special dive ritual. Also couldn’t get any more detailed information about that brown liquid but as far as I can tell the freshly certified dive master had a hell of a good time that night. Later that night he was brought home by friends as his deep dive navigation system seemed to be in some serious trouble – he he he :-)

It's a very quiet time here in paradise. Time for dive school owners to relax & appreciate what made them stick here in the first place. (While there still is something left to appreciate, hopefully!)

Time also to do sensible jobs like writing a letter about the school to the mighty Beckmann's news site. We're still here in the middle of Chaloklum Village (up North) after 9+ years of the usual trials & tribulations usually encountered in a small & genuinely eccentric fishing community. Oh, the stories we can tell, if not restrained!!

From the distant days of renting longtail boats, to buying our present monster (22m long/5m wide) fully fitted dive (& liveaboard) boat, "Chaloklum Tour" (yes, I know, we could have chosen a more glamorous name), we've kept to our simple policy of giving the best service we can, all the time. Word of mouth recommendations are worth more than anything else to our type of customer & we're useless at marketing anyway (incidently if you know someone who might be interested in some diving managerial/marketing work, Phangan stylee, please contact us at www.chaloklum-diving.com!).
