German on overstay caught selling LSD tabs in sting operation on Koh Phangan

Thai police on the party island Koh Phangan reported they had conducted a sting operation in front of a convenience store in Ban Tai.

Thai police arrested a 46 year old German man, Andre Schmitt, for selling LSD tabs.

Andre Schmitt was found in possession of 267 LSD tabs, a small quantity of dried ganja and the 7,500 baht used in the sting operation conducted by police and military.

Mr. Schmitt admitted everything saying he was selling the LSD tabs to tourists at the Full Moon Party for a price between 500 and 1000 baht per tab.

LSD is known by the Thai locals as “drunken paper”, paper that makes you high.

Mr. Schmitt was also found to be on overstay. He has been charged with possession of a Class 1 drug (LSD) with intent to sell, possession of a Class 5 drug (marijuana) and detained.
