Free Public Library in Thong Nai Pan Yai becomes a tourist attraction

There is a free public library at Thong Nai Pan Yai at the north-east coast of Koh Phangan island available to anyone who wishes to borrow a book.

Who goes to the infamous Full Moon Party island to read?  Who goes on vacation to visit a library?  Good questions!

If you become tired of lounging at the beach, going to moon-type parties at night, ATV rentals or elephant rides are not your thing, then there is an additional option.

At the north end of Thong Nai Pan Yai  beach at the north-east coast of Koh Phangan island there is a free public library open to anyone who wishes to visit.

There are comfortable chairs to sit and read in a tranquil jungle environment at a Buddhist temple.  Books are available free to take home and many available to read on the beach.

A cup of tea is available to the kindest of visitor.

It’s not the most common or normal of attractions but worth checking out if you have exhausted all your other tourist activities.

The Buddhist temple also offers a unique meditation cave and a brand new building for tourists to visit.

There is no fee, asked or implied, and the library is a free public service and open daily from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
