Rough sea, high waves – Passenger boats to Koh Phangan suspend services!

Passenger boats from Surat Thani’s Don Sak pier to Koh Phangan and Koh Toh remained suspended for the second day on Thursday as the sea was still rough with waves as high as four metres.

On Thursday morning, ferries to Koh Samui could still leave the pier but officials said the services during the day would be considered based on sea conditions.

Surat Thani governor Wichawut Jinto instructed the Don Sak district chief to work with Harbour Department officials and marine police to ensure the safety of boat passengers at the pier as the sea was still very rough due to strong winds.
